There is no denying that breastmilk is the best choice for babies. First of all it’s free and it has all the nutrients that growing kid needs. It has antibodies that formula milk can’t provide and even breastfeeding moms can benefit from breastfeeding too – breastfeeding burns 500 calories.
However there are instances when moms just can’t produce enough milk (mostly because they are tempted to use formula thus diminishing their supply although through research hypothyroidism is found to be one of the rare reasons why women have less supply of milk eventhough they feed on demand.)
So breastmilk or formula milk is really a choice moms have to make. I guess what I’m trying to say is that don’t beat yourself up if you weren’t able to give breastmilk to your baby. Breastfeeding is a choice and a commitment. Recovery from pregnancy/giving birth is hard enough time for moms to even think that you are inferior, less of a woman/mom because you weren’t able to give your milk to your child. remember that formula milk is the NEXT BEST thing that your growing child can have so don’t fret and be guilty about it.
Just remember to give your best by loving and caring for your kid because feeding them the best choice of food is not enough to nourish them.
